Aberfoyle Park High School Wellbeing for Learning

The Aberfoyle Park High School Wellbeing for Learning Team includes two full-time counsellors and two youth workers. School-based counsellors are qualified teachers with additional skills in promoting and supporting student learning and wellbeing. The wellbeing team offers:

  • Help to manage relationships with family, teachers and peers
  • Support to manage issues of concern
  • Course and career guidance
  • Information about and referrals to other support agencies
  • Support to encourage attendance and learning at school

A common way counsellors can support you is by offering to talk to others on your behalf for example with teachers, friends or parents. We recommend that young people and their families monitor their diet, sleep and exercise in order to support their wellbeing for learning.

In-School Psychology provides free psychological services to children, adolescents and their families. Dr. Carla Humphrys, is our In-School psychologist who works with us every Thursday. Please see the school counsellors for more information and possible referral.

We are a proud member of the Safe Schools Coalition and support LGBTIQ students through EQHQ (Equality Headquarters) - a group that meets regularly and confidentially in a safe space to share experiences and work together to drive positive outcomes for all students. If you would like to become a member of the group, please email one of the counsellors.
